Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced that the state has secured ₹15,279 crore in tourism sector investment during the Tourism Conclave 2025. The investment is expected to generate employment for 50,000 individuals, including 19,520 direct jobs.
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said this is the first time Telangana has introduced a dedicated tourism policy since its formation a decade ago. He credited Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao for attracting the substantial investment and urged investors to consider Telangana a secure and profitable destination.
Telangana tourism investment 2025 includes global hotel chains, mega projects
The state signed agreements for 30 major projects, comprising 14 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) ventures worth ₹7,081 crore and 16 private sector projects totalling ₹8,198 crore.
Key developments include:
- A luxury wellness retreat in Ananthagiri
- Taj Safari and vineyard resort in Vikarabad
- Three international convention centres
- A ₹2,000 crore expansion of Ramoji Film City
International hospitality giants such as InterContinental, St. Regis, and Oberoi will enter Hyderabad for the first time, the Chief Minister announced.
Hyderabad poised to become global tourism hub
Revanth Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s potential, stating, “This is not just an Old City—it is the original city.” He vowed to position Hyderabad as a global city, capable of competing with international metros. He cited the example of the 1996 Miss World pageant held in the city even during a period of Indo-Pak tensions, showcasing Hyderabad’s longstanding image as a safe and stable destination.
The conclave projects the addition of 10,000 new hotel rooms, theme parks, film tourism circuits, and wedding destinations. The government aims to develop Telangana into a global tourism hub with world-class infrastructure and investor confidence.
“Your investments in Telangana are fully secure,” the Chief Minister assured.
