HYDERABAD: University recruitments in Telangana have encountered unexpected delays due to flaws in a government order (GO) issued by the state’s Department of Education. The errors in the GO have disrupted the appointment process for both teaching and non-teaching positions across various universities in the state.
According to sources, the GO contains several technical and legal discrepancies related to educational qualifications, age limits, and reservation policies. These issues have prevented university authorities from proceeding with recruitment procedures, leading to widespread disappointment among thousands of aspirants and affecting academic activities on campuses.
Education experts and university officials have raised concerns over the inclusion of provisions in the GO that do not align with University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. Several universities have already sent official letters to the Department of Education seeking clarification.
Candidates and educational institutions are now demanding an immediate revision of the GO and the issuance of new, accurate instructions to resume the stalled recruitment process. Student unions and applicants have urged the government to treat the matter with urgency and bring an end to the ongoing delays.
While there has been no official statement yet from the Department of Education, sources indicate that a high-level review of the GO is currently underway and a revised version may be released soon.
