Welfare Schemes for Muslim Minorities

Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress government launched two new welfare schemes on Friday to support Muslim minorities. Minister for SC, ST, Minority, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare Andluri Lakshman Kumar unveiled the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana and Revannanna Ka Sahara – Miskeeno Ke Liye schemes at the Secretariat.

Telangana launches new welfare schemes for Muslim minorities

Speaking at the launch, Minister Lakshman Kumar said the initiatives would improve living standards and provide economic security for Muslim minorities. He urged beneficiaries to make full use of the schemes. Moreover, he pointed out that both programs specifically target vulnerable families.

The Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana will provide ₹50,000 in financial aid to widows, divorcees, orphans, and unmarried women. In addition, the assistance will help them start small businesses and achieve self-employment.

Support for the Fakir and Dudekula communities

Under the Revannanna Ka Sahara – Miskeeno Ke Liye scheme, Fakir and Dudekula communities will receive mopeds with a grant of ₹1 lakh each. Furthermore, the minister said this support would strengthen them economically and reduce dependency.

Lakshman Kumar stressed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy implemented the schemes soon after making the promise. Therefore, he said, the government had demonstrated its commitment to minorities. He added that ₹30 crore had already been allocated to fund the programs.

Minister calls the launch a privilege

The minister described it as a privilege to introduce such initiatives within days of assuming office. He further said that the schemes reflect the government’s dedication to social justice and inclusive growth. Consequently, he urged women and minority groups to seize these opportunities for long-term progress.
