Hyderabad: Telangana’s Technical Education Department on Tuesday announced the first phase seat allotment results for TG POLYCET 2025, with 65.5% of available diploma seats filled.

Of the 28,996 seats available, government polytechnics recorded an impressive 82% fill rate, while private colleges managed just 50%. A total of 10,012 seats remain vacant after the first round.

While 80,949 candidates had qualified in the entrance exam, only 20,811 exercised their web options. This left about 8,000 seats without even being opted for. Additionally, around 2,000 students who submitted preferences did not secure a seat.

Candidates allotted seats must pay the fee and complete online self-reporting by July 18 to retain their allotment. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the seat.

Polytechnic classes for the first semester are scheduled to commence on July 31.
