TGSRTC MD V.C. Sajjanar warns parents after child’s near-miss with van

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director V.C. Sajjanar has issued a cautionary message to parents following a recent incident where a child narrowly avoided being hit by a van. On February 17, 2025, Sajjanar shared a video on social media depicting the close call, emphasising the necessity for parents to remain vigilant when accompanying their children near roadways.

The video captures a scene where a father, momentarily inattentive, allows his child to run towards the road just as a van approaches at speed. Fortunately, the child escapes unharmed, but the incident underscores the potential dangers of even brief lapses in supervision.

In his message, Sajjanar remarked, “Not everyone is as lucky as him,” urging parents to exercise constant caution to prevent such perilous situations. He highlighted that minor negligence can lead to severe accidents, and it’s imperative for guardians to be attentive at all times.

This advisory aligns with Sajjanar’s ongoing efforts to promote public safety and awareness. Previously, he has addressed issues such as reckless stunts performed for social media attention, emphasising the broader societal responsibility to discourage hazardous behaviours.

Authorities recommend that parents educate their children about road safety from an early age and consistently model cautious behaviour to mitigate the risk of accidents.
