Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will run 7,754 special buses across the state from September 20 to October 2 to manage the festive rush during Bathukamma and Dussehra.
Of these, 377 services are open for advance booking. TGSRTC expects peak demand from September 27, as Saddula Bathukamma falls on September 30 and Dussehra on October 2. Return services will operate on October 5 and 6.
Special buses will run from key points in Hyderabad, including MGBS, JBS, CBS, KPHB, Uppal, Dilsukhnagar, LB Nagar, Aramgarh, and Santosh Nagar. These services will connect passengers to districts across Telangana and to neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
Only fares for special services will be revised, based on GO No. 16. Regular ticket prices will stay the same.
TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar said the corporation is deploying 617 more buses this year compared to last. He said facilities such as shamianas, benches, drinking water, and public address systems will be arranged at high-traffic locations to help passengers.
Supervisory staff will monitor travel conditions and add more buses when required. Sajjanar urged passengers to avoid unsafe private operators and book tickets early through tgsrtcbus.in or helplines 040-69440000 and 040-23450033.
