A thief in a luxury car attempted a daylight robbery in Mahabubabad but was caught and handed over to the police by alert locals. Investigation is underway.
HYDERABAD: In a daring daylight robbery attempt, a thief arrived in a luxury car, broke into a locked house, and tried to steal valuables. However, alert locals noticed the incident, chased the thief, and apprehended him, later handing him over to the police.
The incident took place on Thursday at Kudiyatanda, which falls under the Stage Tanda Gram Panchayat in Maripeda Mandal, Mahabubabad district.
According to local residents, a man named Mangya had locked his house on the main road and gone for daily wage work. Seizing the opportunity, the thief broke into the house and stole ₹10,000 in cash and gold earrings.
When Mangya discovered the theft, he informed the police about filing a formal complaint. Upon inquiry, Sub-Inspector (SI) Satish confirmed that a case had been registered and the investigation is ongoing.
