GUNTUR: In connection with the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) B.Ed question paper leak case, Peda Kakani police arrested three accused on Friday night. The scandal came to light on Friday afternoon, after which ANU Registrar Acharya G. Simhachalam lodged a complaint at the Peda Kakani police station later that night.
According to the complaint, the leak was traced to the mobile number 70082 12851. Based on this information, police identified the suspect as Dhiren Kumar Sahoo, a B.Ed student from Odisha, and arrested him from a lodge in Tenali. Further investigation confirmed that the mobile number mentioned in the complaint was being used by him.
Odisha Students and Agent Network Involved
During the inquiry, police discovered that two more students from Odisha, Ganesh CH Sahoo and Milan Prusti, were also involved in the case. Both were taken into custody for further questioning.
Initial findings suggest that certain agents from Odisha have been facilitating admissions of students into ANU and other universities in Andhra Pradesh, ensuring they pass practical and theory exams through fraudulent means. Allegedly, huge sums of money have been exchanged for these illicit activities.
Police have reportedly extracted key information from the accused, which may lead to further arrests and expose the larger network behind the scam.
