Hyderabad: A tiger, earlier sighted in Kasipet mandal of Mancherial district, has now been roaming the forests of Rebbena and Tiryani mandals for the past two days, forest officials confirmed.
The animal is believed to have migrated from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district a few months ago in search of new territory. Its presence was confirmed through camera traps after it killed cattle in Rebbena recently.
Officials have deployed special teams to track its movement and installed CCTV camera traps across forest stretches.
The tiger had previously killed two calves in Kasipet a fortnight ago, causing panic among local residents.
Villagers have been advised to avoid deep forest areas, move in groups while farming, and stay alert near forest edges to prevent sudden encounters.
