HYDERABAD, February 10: On Monday, TPCC Chief MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged internal conflicts among BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), MLC Kavitha, and Harish Rao. He criticised KTR’s public demeanour and questioned the party’s commitment to Backward Classes (BC) issues.
Addressing the media at Rimmannaguda S-4 in Gajwel, Goud stated that leaders who did not participate in the BC census, including KTR and his family members, lack the authority to demand a re-survey. He further claimed that the BRS has lost its relevance in Telangana and questioned why K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), confined to his farmhouse, should hold the position of opposition leader. Goud accused KCR of neglecting Gajwel constituents in favour of personal leisure.
Goud also alleged a covert alliance between the BRS and BJP in the upcoming MLC elections, suggesting that both parties are collaborating to defeat Congress candidates. He noted that, similar to the parliamentary elections, the BRS is indirectly supporting the BJP due to a lack of suitable candidates.
Criticising the BJP’s performance, Goud pointed out that despite having eight MPs, the party secured minimal funds for the state in the budget. He accused local BJP leaders of exploiting religious sentiments for political gain. Goud lauded Telangana for conducting the country’s first BC census transparently, setting an example for the nation.
