Hyderabad: Telangana TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud has lashed out at BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) over his interpretation of a court ruling related to the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, accusing him of misleading the public by portraying the verdict as a clean chit to the ruling party.
Responding to KTR’s comments, Goud pointed out that the original case challenging the project was filed by Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who was then with the Congress. Goud claimed Reddy had submitted the case with strong supporting evidence, only to later join the BRS, which allegedly weakened the legal challenge.
“How can a leader from your own party pursue a case against your party head KCR?” Goud questioned, accusing the BRS of manipulating the case’s direction after absorbing the petitioner into their ranks.
He accused KTR of attempting to present BRS leaders as virtuous and corruption-free, while ignoring the serious graft allegations tied to the project. Goud called the move a “political cover-up.”
To bring clarity to the issue, Goud stated he had written to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy requesting a formal inquiry into the matter. “Let the government decide CID probe or judicial investigation,” he said, challenging KTR to step forward if he truly believes in transparency.
“Only through a fair investigation can the scale and nature of the corruption be exposed,” he asserted.
