HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President B Mahesh Kumar Goud defended senior Congress leader Deepa Das Munshi, calling her a committed and disciplined leader. He praised her for strengthening the party during her tenure as AICC in-charge for Telangana.
Addressing recent media reports suggesting that Deepa Das Munshi had neglected party affairs, Goud dismissed them as baseless. He clarified that she had efficiently managed additional responsibilities in Telangana while officially serving as the AICC in-charge for Kerala.
According to Mahesh Goud, the recent appointment of Meenakshi Natarajan as the new Telangana AICC in-charge was part of broader organisational changes by the party. He emphasised that the change was purely administrative and not a punitive measure. Since Deepa Das Munshi holds full-time responsibilities in Kerala, a new appointment in Telangana was necessary.
He further highlighted Das Munshi’s political background, noting her association with a prominent political family and her reputation for integrity and discipline. He credited her with strengthening the party’s organisational structure in Telangana.
Mahesh Goud strongly condemned the misinformation being spread in some newspapers and media outlets. He warned that legal action would be taken against those publishing false reports about her.
