Hyderabad: Telangana Congress is set to announce its new Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) executive in the coming days, party president Mahesh Kumar Goud confirmed during his visit to Delhi.
Speaking to the media after meeting senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the long-awaited announcement would be made “within a day or two”.
He met Rahul Gandhi along with his spouse and used the opportunity to brief the leadership on key developments in Telangana, including organisational restructuring and the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim’ outreach programmes.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said he had urged Rahul Gandhi to ensure proper representation for Backward Classes (BCs) in the state Cabinet. “I raised the issue of BC inclusion strongly. Rahul ji assured that a decision on Cabinet expansion will be taken soon,” he said.
The TPCC chief also discussed several state-specific matters with the central leadership, though details were not disclosed.
The Congress party is currently in the process of consolidating its internal structure in Telangana following its return to power and the formation of the government led by CM A. Revanth Reddy.
