Hyderabad: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao expressed grief over the death of trade union leader and Telangana activist G. Yellaiah. Paying homage to his mortal remains, Harish Rao conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and said Yellaiah’s death was an irreparable loss to the workers’ movement.
Veteran BHEL union leader passes away
Yellaiah, a senior leader of the BHEL employees’ union, died of a heart attack on Friday. He collapsed in the morning and was rushed by family members to Panesha Meridian Hospital at Ramachandrapuram, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Contribution to labour struggles
Yellaiah played a key role in resolving labour issues not only at BHEL but also in several other industries. His death has cast a shadow of grief across the workers’ community.
BRS leaders and trade union representatives visited his residence to pay their respects.
