Hyderabad: A traffic constable from Yadagirigutta traffic police station died in a road accident at Hayathnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Friday after his motorcycle rammed into a truck from behind.
The deceased, identified as Maan Singh, was travelling from Hayathnagar towards Yadadri-Bhongir when the incident occurred.
According to police, the truck ahead of Singh suddenly applied brakes, leaving him no time to react. Riding closely behind, he crashed into the rear of the truck.
Maan Singh sustained severe injuries to the head, chest and other parts of his body. He collapsed on the road and died on the spot.
Passersby who witnessed the crash attempted to help and alerted the police.
The Hayathnagar police registered a case of negligent driving causing death. The body has been shifted for post-mortem examination as part of the investigation.
