Hyderabad: Panic gripped passengers on Thursday when a train heading from Miryalaguda to Kacheguda caught fire near Bibinagar in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
It was the rear coach that went up first – thick smoke and flames spotted just outside BB Nagar. Fortunately, a few alert passengers noticed early signs and immediately flagged down railway staff. The train was halted without delay.
Officials rushed to the spot. Firefighters were called in and managed to bring the flames under control after some effort. The incident caused about an hour’s delay.
No injuries, no burns. Just smoke, noise, and a lot of worry. Passengers, once told there were no casualties, breathed easier. After the situation was cleared, the train resumed its journey toward Kacheguda.
