Hyderabad: Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday pulled up Secretariat employees under his department for reporting late to duty and warned of disciplinary action against habitual absentees.
During a review meeting at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, the minister expressed anger that several officials had not reported even by 10.40 a.m. He directed department heads to seek written explanations from the absentees. Rao instructed that all employees must report by 10.30 a.m. from Friday, failing which departmental action would be initiated.
He further told officials to remain available to farmers during the ongoing heavy rains. He ordered that tarpaulins be stocked and precautionary measures taken to prevent crop damage.

Rao also reviewed the state’s urea allocation and directed that incoming stocks be distributed to districts based on demand. He instructed Agriculture Department Director Gopi to immediately collect detailed reports of crop losses caused by Wednesday’s heavy rains.
