Two Andhra DPCs killed in highway crash near Choutuppal

Hyderabad: Two Deputy Police Commissioners from Andhra Pradesh died in a high-speed crash on the national highway near Kaitapuram in Choutuppal mandal early Saturday.

The officers, Chakradhara Rao and Shantharao, were killed instantly when a speeding lorry rammed into their car. Additional SP Prasad sustained serious injuries. The car’s driver, Narsinga Rao, was critically injured and shifted to a local hospital.

Police said the officers were travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad when the collision occurred. The impact crushed the vehicle, killing both DPCs on the spot.

Choutuppal police have booked a case and launched an investigation.
