Hyderabad: Two separate adulterated milk rackets were busted by Special Operations Team (SOT) police in Bhuvanagiri zone, with two persons arrested for supplying contaminated milk to sweet shops in Hyderabad.
In the first case, police raided an illegal milk mixing unit in Mannevari Pampu village and seized 80 litres of adulterated milk, 500 ml of hydrogen peroxide, 5 milk powder packets, and 400 ml of acetic acid. The accused, Samala Satti Reddy, was reportedly supplying the adulterated stock to sweet shops in LB Nagar and Uppal. He was handed over to Bhuvanagiri Rural Police for further investigation.
In the second case, SOT teams conducted a raid in Kanumukkala village and arrested Kumbham Raghu, who was found selling spurious milk to shops in Malakpet and Dilsukhnagar. Police seized 100 litres of adulterated milk, 200 ml of hydrogen peroxide, and 7 packets of milk powder. The accused was transferred to the custody of Pochampally Police.
Both operations were part of an intensified crackdown on food adulteration in the lead-up to festival season. Police said samples have been sent for forensic testing and further legal action will follow under food safety and IPC provisions.
