Hyderabad: Asifnagar Police along with South West Task Force apprehended two men on Tuesday for the brutal murder of 28-year-old Mohammed Qaboola, a sofa maker, behind Rahath Hotel in New Kishan Nagar on the night of July 20.
The accused, Mohd Waseem alias PM and Sameer Khan alias Junaid, both furniture workers, were reportedly friends of the victim but had longstanding enmity. According to police, the pair conspired to kill Qaboola and executed the plan after consuming alcohol together earlier in the day.
The accused tracked the victim to a narrow lane around 9:45 PM and engaged in a staged argument. Sameer allegedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Qaboola while Waseem restrained him. After the attack, Waseem struck Qaboola’s head with a granite boulder, killing him on the spot.
Seized items include the murder weapon, a Pulsar motorcycle (TS-12-EH-9472), and a Redmi phone. Police noted that Waseem had a prior criminal case under IPC Section 307.
The arrest operation was led by Inspectors N. Anand and G. Santosh Kumar under the supervision of DCP G. Chandra Mohan. The team was commended by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and will be rewarded for their work.
