Police identified seven individuals as part of the gang, including the two arrested men — Aashish Kumar Singh and Deepak Kumar Sah, both 22 and residents of Saran district, Bihar. The gang had planned a series of high-value robberies targeting gold and diamond jewellery stores in Hyderabad.
With help from Deepak Kumar Sah, who worked as a welder in the city, the accused rented a house in Asbestos Colony, Jeedimetla on 31 July. They purchased two second-hand motorcycles and conducted surveillance of multiple showrooms in Chandanagar before executing the robbery.
Aashish Kumar Singh was arrested in Maharashtra, and his interrogation led to the capture of Sah, who had arranged accommodation, transport, and helped identify targets.
The Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, credited the arrests to the combined efforts of SOT, CCS, and L&O wings. Jewellery shop owners have been advised to strengthen security systems and install intrusion alarms linked to local police stations.
