Hyderabad: Commissioner’s Task Force, South East Zone, apprehended two individuals for illegally selling Mephentermine Sulphate injections and seized 423 vials along with two two-wheelers, two mobile phones, and ₹9,430 in cash.
The raid was conducted on July 11 following a tip-off, in coordination with Chatrinaka Police. The seized items have an estimated market value of ₹5 lakh.
The accused were identified as Mohammed Zuber alias Zubair, 30, a model from Falaknuma, and Veludandi Vinay Kumar, 43, a medical distributor from Chengicherla. Police found that Zuber, addicted to Mephentermine, sourced the drug through Kumar, who procured it from a supplier in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities said the injections, which are sold illegally to gym-goers and youth under false claims of rapid muscle growth, were distributed without valid medical prescriptions or licenses.
The accused were allegedly targeting uninformed customers and exploiting demand for performance-enhancing drugs.
The operation was led by Inspector S. Saidababu and sub-inspectors K. Rama Rao and M. Madhu, with assistance from Chatrinaka Police personnel.
