Hyderabad: Two children died of dengue fever in Jangaon and Mahabubabad districts, raising concerns over the spread of seasonal viral infections in Telangana.
Dengue death in Jangaon
In Jangaon district, 20-month-old Jogu Satvika, daughter of Shankar and Sandhya from Kottapalli in Station Ghanpur mandal, developed a fever a day before Rakhi Purnima. A private hospital in Station Ghanpur initially diagnosed her with typhoid. Her condition worsened, and the family shifted her to a hospital in Hanumakonda. Tests confirmed dengue and liver damage. Satvika died while undergoing treatment.
Dengue death in Mahabubabad
In another case, nine-year-old Dharma Rapu Satvika, daughter of Buchimallu and Kavitha from Charlapalem village in Thorrur mandal, Mahabubabad district, suffered from fever for several days. She received treatment at multiple hospitals but showed no improvement. Her parents admitted her to MGM Hospital in Warangal, where she died during treatment on Thursday.
