Hyderabad: Tragedy struck Parvathipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh when two intermediate students drowned while swimming in a local river. The deceased have been identified as Eshwar Rao and Nagi Reddy Sai, both close friends.
The duo had travelled to Pelligummi village to attend a wedding. After the event, they went to the nearby river for a swim. While playing in the water, Eshwar Rao was caught in the current. Nagi Reddy jumped in to rescue him, but both were pulled into deeper waters and drowned.
Local police rushed to the spot upon being informed. The bodies were retrieved and sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and investigation is underway.
The sudden deaths have cast a shadow of grief over the boys’ families and friends.
