HYDERABAD: A heartbreaking road accident in Telangana’s Medak district has claimed the lives of two women, leaving several others injured. The tragedy unfolded near Kolapally in the Peddashankarampeta mandal when a DCM vehicle crashed into a stationary tourist bus, turning a routine journey into a nightmare.
The ill-fated bus was carrying a group of pilgrims from Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, traveling from Shirdi to Srisailam. In the early hours of the morning, the driver pulled over near a roadside hotel for a short break. As the passengers stepped off the bus, an approaching DCM lost control and smashed into the vehicle, resulting in the devastating accident.
One woman standing near the bus was killed on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries. Emergency services rushed to the location, and the injured were immediately taken to the government hospital in Jogipet. Despite the medical team’s efforts, another woman succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Authorities have identified the victims and confirmed that the condition of some of the injured remains critical. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
This tragic accident highlights the recurring dangers of road safety and reckless driving, once again underscoring the need for stricter traffic regulations and awareness.
