Hyderabad: Telangana forest officials fined Gulf Oil Corporation Limited ₹20 lakh in Kukatpally for unauthorised tree cutting. Locals had complained about the incident last week. Officials then inspected the company premises and confirmed the violation.
Forest teams discovered that several trees had been cut without prior approval. A penalty of ₹20 lakh was imposed on the management. A case was also filed.

Medchal District Forest Officer Sudhakar Reddy said the fine was paid on September 8. He warned that no individual or company can cut down trees without a permit.
Earlier, on August 12, Siddipet municipal authorities fined ₹1 lakh for cutting five trees without approval in a housing board area. Officials stressed that strict penalties are needed to protect greenery.
