HYDERABAD, February 9: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure victories in the forthcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections for three seats in Telangana. Addressing party workers at the BJP office in Nalgonda district, he emphasised the importance of commitment and strategic campaigning to achieve this goal.
Sanjay Kumar urged party members to engage with teachers multiple times to solicit their votes and to intensify outreach efforts until polling day. He highlighted that the BJP’s candidate, Sarotham Reddy, is known for his integrity and close relationships with employees, which could facilitate an easier victory.
He accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of collaborating with the Congress to defeat the BJP, alleging a quid pro quo arrangement between the two parties. Sanjay Kumar claimed that BRS leaders, entangled in various scams and under investigation, are working internally to ensure Congress candidates’ success in the MLC elections to avoid arrests.
The minister called upon party workers to expose the government’s failures and the deceptive promises made by Congress to teachers, unemployed individuals, farmers, women, and students. He urged them to highlight the BJP’s consistent advocacy for teachers’ rights, including opposition to Government Order 317, and to communicate the benefits provided to employees in the central budget, such as income tax exemptions up to ₹12.75 lakh, the recruitment of 10 lakh jobs, timely payment of dearness allowance, and implementation of pay revisions.
Sanjay Kumar emphasised the sacrifices made by BJP workers in Nalgonda district and the long-standing aspiration of many to witness the party in power. He called upon the cadre to fulfil these dreams by ensuring the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
