Hyderabad: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday said the long-delayed Uppal–Narapally flyover will be completed and opened to the public by Dasara.
Inspecting the ongoing work from Uppal Ring Road to Narapally, the minister was accompanied by local MLA Bandaru Laxma Reddy, Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah, and senior officials. He reviewed progress and sought explanations from engineers on site.
Venkat Reddy said the 6.25-km flyover, launched in 2018 by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, faced major delays due to financial constraints and other issues. He blamed the previous administration for years of inaction and said the Congress government had prioritized the project upon taking office.
The minister added that the contractor originally executing the work was replaced after Centre’s approval, and that the state had since accelerated construction. Touted as the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad after the PVNR Expressway, the structure is being built at a cost of ₹527 crore.
Venkat Reddy assured that the flyover will be ready and operational before Dasara.
