Hyderabad: Uppal police arrested four men in connection with a gold chain snatching on August 29 near Moosi River Park.
Police said Praveena, 42, of Nagole, was walking in the park when a man threatened her and took her 26-gram gold chain and 4-gram earrings. They identified him as Guniganti Mahesh, 29, a bike mechanic from Gorantla village in Suryapet district.
Mahesh carried out the crime with three associates. They are Veerababu, 25, a real estate worker from Maripeda in Mahabubabad district; Vinay, 26, an auto driver from Champapet; and Konda Harish, 28, a private employee from Sai Nagar, Nagole.
Accused linked to multiple cases
Police said Mahesh faced 51 earlier cases and was already booked under the PD Act. With the help of Malkajgiri SOT and CCS teams, Uppal police arrested the four accused. They seized 30 grams of gold ornaments, one bike, and four mobile phones. The court later remanded them.
