Uppal Police arrested three suspects in a Rs 7 lakh theft case at a wholesale grocery shop. Rs 5.2 lakh recovered.

HYDERABAD: Uppal Police successfully cracked a theft case involving Rs 7 lakh stolen from a wholesale grocery shop in Gandhi Nagar, Uppal. The accused were identified using CCTV footage, leading to their arrest and the recovery of Rs 5.2 lakh in stolen cash.

According to police reports, Jnyan Chand Sharma and Ram Kishore have been running a wholesale grocery shop in Gandhi Nagar, Uppal, for the past eight years. On Saturday night, they closed the shop as usual and went home. However, on Sunday morning, they discovered that the shop’s shutter had been forcibly removed. Upon inspection, they found that Rs 7 lakh in cash had been stolen.

Before entering, the thieves had bent the CCTV cameras inside the shop to avoid detection. Despite this, footage captured their activities, including the theft and cash removal. Based on the shop owner’s complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Police Identify and Arrest Suspects

Using CCTV footage, police identified the suspects and intensified their search. On Wednesday, three individuals were taken into custody. The arrested persons were identified as Mohammed Khadar (48) and Abdul Khadeer (48) from Vikarabad, and Sheikh Abdul (42) from Rajendranagar.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to committing the theft. Police recovered Rs 5.2 lakh from them. The accused were subsequently arrested and sent to judicial remand.

Senior police officials commended the investigating officers for swiftly solving the case and recovering a significant portion of the stolen money.
