Hyderabad: Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday announced that the Megha Job Mela will be held on October 25 in Huzurnagar. The state government is directly overseeing the event, which aims to create large-scale employment for youth across the erstwhile Nalgonda district.
So far, 205 companies have confirmed participation. The event will be hosted at Vignan School and Swarnavedika Function Hall. More than 9,500 job seekers have already registered, and the numbers are expected to grow further.
Megha Job Mela Huzurnagar targets rural job gap
After inspecting the venues, Uttam Kumar Reddy explained that the mela is being organised in partnership with the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana and Singareni Collieries. He confirmed that many private firms from the Nalgonda region agreed to recruit through the event.
Describing unemployment as the biggest challenge of his political journey, he noted that the Congress government had already completed over 70,000 job appointments. He cited recent Group 1 and Group 2 postings and added that recruitment of licensed surveyors is also in progress.
He said he personally reached out to firms, including Visaka Asbestos, to ensure a strong turnout from the corporate sector.

Minister urges rural youth to seize job opportunities
Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the urban-rural gap in job access and urged village youth to register in large numbers. He described the mela as a platform designed to bridge this divide by connecting rural talent with real employment opportunities.
He appealed to Congress leaders across the Nalgonda region to treat the event as a mission. During the inspection, he was accompanied by MLC Shankar Naik, District Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar, and SP Narasimha.
Calling the event both “prestigious and purposeful,” the minister said it aims to bring hope to families that have invested in their children’s education. He encouraged job seekers to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to begin stable careers.
