Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday welcomed the Indian military’s strike on terror camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, carried out under ‘Operation Sindoor’. Calling the operation a commendable move, he expressed full faith in the Indian armed forces and stated that they would overcome the enemy and return victorious.
“I salute our brave soldiers,” he said, noting that the strike demonstrated India’s growing military capabilities. Uttam Kumar Reddy added that while such operations were previously believed to require fighter aircraft, the current use of air defence systems signals a significant strategic development.
He asserted that India is well-equipped to handle any retaliatory measures and would issue a strong response if provoked.
Condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Reddy described it as a heinous and inhuman act. He emphasised the need for decisive action, stating that Pakistan-backed terrorism has long harmed India and that the time has come for a firm counter-response.
Uttam Kumar Reddy dismissed warnings from Pakistan, stating that no Indian would be deterred by such threats. He warned that India would retaliate appropriately if terrorism continued to receive support across the border.
Speaking on local security, the minister said Hyderabad is considered sensitive and falls under the second-highest security risk category. He noted that the central government has issued relevant alerts, and the Telangana government is taking all necessary steps to ensure public safety. He also welcomed recent efforts to train civilians in air defence techniques, calling it a positive initiative.
All Indians stand as one as our brave soldiers commence ‘Operation Sindoor’.
I am sure the attacks on terror camps will be a huge success and the enemy will bite the dust.
I salute our valiant soldiers.🫡 https://t.co/8GpoRslP3E
