Hyderabad: A Vande Bharat Express narrowly escaped a serious mishap on Sunday near Tallapusapalli railway station in Mahabubabad district after colliding with a bull.
According to Mahabubabad Railway SI Subhani, the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat was heading towards Secunderabad when it struck the animal at the 428/11 km mark near Tallapusapalli station.
The impact damaged part of the cattle guard fitted to the front of the train engine, triggering a loud noise. The alert driver halted the train immediately and informed railway officials.
A technical team reached the spot, carried out temporary repairs, and removed the bull carcass from the tracks before allowing the train to proceed.
Police counselled farmers living near the railway line, warning them of legal action if they let cattle stray onto the tracks.
