Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha declared that veteran activists would display their strength if they came together again. She spoke at the Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills where several activists joined the organisation.
Former Ranga Reddy district library chairman and Congress leader Panduranga Reddy, BSP Malkajgiri in-charge Andugula Satyanarayana, and others joined Jagruthi in Kavitha’s presence. Kavitha recalled that they once worked as a winning team during the statehood agitation. Their present goal, she said, was to achieve a social Telangana with welfare for activists, martyrs’ families, youth, and women.
Kavitha says activists’ unity will power the push for a social Telangana
Kavitha praised Panduranga Reddy for his commitment and recalled that he faced several cases during the agitation. She remembered his emotional response when his younger brother Siripura Yadayya lost his life in the movement. Reddy, she noted, mobilised Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts during the agitation, and his entry into Jagruthi gave her joy.
More activists from several districts have joined the organisation, Kavitha added. She assured them of recognition and welcomed their entry with an open heart. Activists are also forming an “activists’ forum” to work collectively. Kavitha urged artists to support Jagruthi’s efforts.
The Jagruthi chief stressed that the organisation always stood with the destitute. She cited its intervention in Qutbullapur where houses of the destitute were demolished. Equal opportunities, she promised, would go to all who entered Jagruthi.
