Hyderabad, January 29: A veterinary doctor in Utnoor, Adilabad district, was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while accepting a bribe from a subordinate staff member. The accused, Dr. Ramesh Rathod, was arrested at the Shampoor sub-centre on Wednesday.
According to ACB officials, Jugunaka Madhav, a veterinary assistant at Shampoor sub-centre, had recently been transferred to another location. However, his salary for the past two months was pending. When he approached his superior, Dr. Rathod, regarding the payment, the latter allegedly demanded ₹30,000. After negotiations, the amount was reduced to ₹15,000.
Madhav then reported the matter to the ACB, which set up a sting operation. Following their instructions, Madhav handed over the agreed amount at the sub-centre, leading to Dr. Rathod’s immediate arrest. The ACB has registered a case and launched an investigation.
