Hyderabad: A major development emerged in the Formula E-Race case with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) completing its investigation and submitting a detailed report to the Vigilance Commission. Officials confirmed that the commission will take a final decision on the file within two days before forwarding the report to the state government.
Once the government approves it, the report will return to the ACB, which will then move to file a chargesheet against the accused.
Vigilance Commission to decide on Formula E-Race case report
The case names former minister K.T. Rama Rao as Accused No. 1, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar as Accused No. 2, former HMDA engineer B.L.N. Reddy as Accused No. 3, and two more individuals as Accused No. 4 and 5.
The ACB already questioned K.T. Rama Rao twice and Arvind Kumar three times during the probe. Investigators concluded that large-scale corruption took place in organising the Formula E race. They said they gathered evidence proving quid pro quo.
According to findings, a sponsoring company transferred Rs 44 crore to the race organiser. In return, the same company allegedly provided electoral bonds worth Rs 44 crore to the BRS party.
