HYDERABAD, February 3: The Vigilance and Enforcement Department has launched an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities in the Civil Supplies Department in Vanaparthi.
As part of the probe, vigilance officials have questioned the Civil Supplies Officer, Manager, and Enforcement officials regarding discrepancies in paddy procurement under the Custom Milling of Rice (CMR) scheme. The inquiry is focused on the alleged misappropriation of paddy stocks.
Officials are also examining records related to defaulters and the allocation of paddy to rice mills under construction, suspecting potential violations in the distribution process.
The investigation is ongoing, and further action is expected based on the findings.
