Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in connection with its probe into betting app promotions that have sparked major controversy in the Telugu states.
The ED summoned Deverakonda to question him about his involvement in promoting betting platforms. Officials are examining whether his endorsements involved payments linked to potential money laundering.
Deverakonda responded to the notice and cooperated with investigators. According to sources, the agency is reviewing all financial transactions related to these promotions, including commissions or compensation he may have received.
This interrogation is part of a broader inquiry involving several celebrities. The ED has asked actor Rana Daggubati to appear on August 11. It also summoned actress Lakshmi Manchu for questioning on August 13.
Investigators want to determine if funds tied to these endorsements passed through illegal channels. The agency suspects possible violations of money laundering laws.
