Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Vivek Venkatswamy on Saturday pledged ₹12 crore for drainage and CC road works in Hyderabad’s Rehmathnagar, addressing a booth committee meeting held despite rain.
Hailing the turnout as a show of party strength, the minister said several public welfare schemes were reaching citizens under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration. He promised to resolve long-standing nala issues and fund community hall construction in the area.
Venkatswamy said eligible poor families without homes would receive double bedroom houses, while others keen to construct their own would get ₹5 lakh financial assistance. He announced plans to ensure ration cards for the needy and transparent beneficiary selection for state housing schemes.
On transport, he said he would coordinate with the Transport Minister to deploy more buses to the locality. He also promised to address high-tension power line issues in coordination with GHMC and relevant departments.
Referring to pending issues, he said land previously earmarked for Vaddera community livelihood support would be restored following a directive to mining officials. He urged party workers to stay close to the people and drive awareness on government initiatives, adding that grassroots mobilisation would be key to Congress securing a strong majority in the upcoming elections.
