Hyderabad: In a dramatic anti-narcotics operation, Telangana police in Warangal district arrested four individuals for attempting to smuggle ganja in a concealed compartment of a tractor.
According to Narcotics DSP Saidulu, the gang had ingeniously modified the underside of a tractor to hide the narcotics.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the vehicle near Ursugutta grounds and recovered 210 kilograms of ganja. The estimated market value of seized ganja is ₹1.05 crore. Police also seized a tractor, a car, and five mobile phones used by the accused.
The contraband was reportedly being transported from Khammam in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad via Warangal.
Officials confirmed that the method used by the smugglers resembled a plot from a film, using the tractor’s secret compartment to evade detection. An investigation is ongoing to uncover the broader network involved.
