Voter list revision in Warangal to match 2002 records with current voters

Hyderabad: Warangal district authorities have begun a voter list revision exercise for the 2025 elections by matching current electors and their offspring with those registered in 2002. This was announced by Warangal District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada at a meeting held at the district collectorate on Thursday.

Focus on accuracy under Special Intensive Revision

The process falls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being conducted by the Election Commission. It aims to add new voters, delete names of deceased individuals, and correct any personal data in the existing rolls.

Addressing revenue officials (RDOs, EROs), political party representatives, and election officials, the Collector stressed that booth-level agents suggested by recognised political parties are crucial for the smooth conduct of the revision.

Political parties asked to submit BLO agent lists

The Collector urged all recognised political parties to submit their booth-level agent lists without delay. These agents will work with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the accuracy of the voter rolls.

Senior officials including Zilla Parishad CEO Ramee Reddy, DPO Kalpana, Election Deputy Tahsildar Ranjith Kumar, and DSP J. Anil Kumar attended the meeting. Representatives from multiple political parties also participated, including Takkallapalli Ravinder Rao (Congress), K. Shyam (TDP), B. Hari Shankar (BJP), and N. Rajinikanth (YSRCP).
