HYDERABAD: Minister for Revenue, Housing, and Information, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, asserted that the Telangana state government will not compromise on the implementation of welfare schemes. He said that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the government is advancing steadfastly.
The minister inaugurated several development projects in Illandu Mandal on Sunday. He stated that despite financial challenges, every promise made during the last assembly elections will be fulfilled. As part of the prestigious Indiramma Housing initiative, 3,500 houses have been sanctioned for each constituency. The government aims to make education and healthcare accessible to every underprivileged individual.
The minister criticized the BRS party for making false allegations, unable to tolerate the public support the Congress government is receiving. He accused the previous BRS government of deceiving people with unfulfilled promises, lacking in development and welfare schemes. He attributed the state’s debt crisis to the BRS administration, stating that despite these financial burdens, the current government continues to pursue development and welfare initiatives. He alleged that the BRS misused public funds amounting to lakhs of crores under the guise of projects.
Minister Reddy highlighted that the poorest among the poor are being allotted Indiramma houses. He assured that despite financial constraints, the government is determined to construct 2 million Indiramma houses in the coming period, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the underprivileged.
He announced the allocation of ₹11,600 crore for establishing Young India Integrated Schools in 58 constituencies, adhering to international standards. He criticized the previous BRS government for neglecting the hardships of the poor, asserting that the Indiramma regime ensures social justice for all communities.
In Poobelli village of Illandu Mandal, the minister inaugurated the construction of 83 Indiramma houses. He expressed satisfaction over initiating these 83 houses as a pilot project, part of the first phase where 3,500 houses are being provided to each of the 58 constituencies. He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards in the construction of Indiramma houses.
Despite obstacles posed by the central government, Minister Reddy assured that the state government will not back down and is committed to constructing 2 million Indiramma houses in the future.
Additionally, he mentioned the inauguration of construction works for a 100-bed government hospital, with an estimated cost of ₹37.52 crore. He criticized previous governments for neglecting the hardships of the poor. Despite financial difficulties, the Indiramma government is committed to working tirelessly in areas such as education, healthcare, housing, employment opportunities for unemployed youth, development of tribal and backward classes, and farmer welfare, ensuring unwavering support for the underprivileged.
