Hyderabad: Tragedy struck Ameenpur municipality in Patancheru constituency after a 25-year-old woman allegedly ended her life due to an extreme fear of ants. The deceased, identified as Manisha, was the wife of Srikanth from Sharva Homes.
According to police, Manisha had been suffering from ant phobia for some time. Her family had taken her to doctors and arranged counselling sessions to help her overcome the fear.

On Tuesday evening, Srikanth returned home from work and found the bedroom door locked from inside. With the help of neighbours, he forced the door open and found Manisha hanging from the ceiling fan.
Police rushed to the scene soon after receiving the alert. Moreover, they recovered a handwritten suicide note from the room. In it, Manisha apologised to her husband and wrote that she could no longer live with her fear of ants. She also asked him to take care of their daughter Anvi and fulfil certain family vows at temples in Annaram, Tirupati, and Ellamma.
Officers registered a case and started an investigation to verify all circumstances surrounding the incident. Further inquiries are underway.
