Hyderabad: A Rakhi festival celebration turned tragic in Mulugu district when a woman died in a road accident while returning from her brother’s house. The incident occurred at Nampalli Cross on Saturday.
Police said Padma, an anganwadi teacher, had travelled to her parental home for Rakhi. After tying the rakhi to her younger brother, she left for her in-laws’ house on a bike with her husband.
Accident at Nampalli Cross
On the way, the motorcycle went out of control and overturned near Nampalli Cross. Padma sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. Her husband suffered minor injuries.
The accident cast a pall of grief over the family and the local community.
