Hyderabad: A 27-year-old woman was found dead in Durgam Cheruvu on Thursday morning, hours after she was reported missing from East Marredpally.
Police said B Sushma, who worked in Hitec City, failed to return home on Wednesday night after leaving her office around 10.30 pm. When her parents could not reach her, they contacted her workplace and were informed that she had left as usual. After checking with relatives and friends, they approached Madhapur police at around 4 am.
A missing case was registered, and police began tracing her movements. By 7 am, her body was found floating in the lake. It was retrieved with the help of expert swimmers and later identified as Sushma.
Madhapur Inspector D Krishna Mohan said preliminary investigation points to suicide. A case has been booked and police are working to determine what led to her death.
