Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the 4,000 MW Yadadri thermal power plant will become fully operational by January 2026. Two units, producing 1,600 MW, are already generating electricity.
Bhatti, along with Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, launched the first unit and laid the foundation for an employee township in Dameracherla, Nalgonda district.
He blamed the earlier administration for delays in environmental clearances that pushed the project back by nearly two years. The Congress government secured these clearances within two months of taking office.
Bhatti promised top-tier schools and hospitals for both employees and nearby communities. Ambulances will serve local constituencies. Welfare programmes will directly benefit residents around the plant.
He assured that all land donors for the Yadadri and Pulichintala projects will get jobs by August 15. The government will also implement full resettlement and rehabilitation benefits.
Bhatti responded to local complaints about road damage from plant traffic. He said CC road works are already underway. He also criticised the former government for failing to provide jobs to locals.
