Hyderabad: A worker was killed in a powerful blast at Premier Explosives Company near Pedda Kandukur in Yadagirigutta mandal on Tuesday morning. The explosion occurred while a boiler steam pipe was being opened outside the plant.
Officials said the incident took place around 7:30 a.m. when steam was being diverted to another unit. As the valve was released, the blast fatally injured worker Sadanandam, 50, who died on the spot from severe head injuries.

The deceased, a native of Godavarikhani, had been employed at Premier Explosives for 25 years and was residing in Aleru town. His body was shifted to the Bhuvanagiri Area Hospital for postmortem. Police are investigating the cause of the explosion.
