Hyderabad: The Sripada Yellampalli project in Anthargam mandal is witnessing heavy inflows due to continuous rains and upstream floodwater from major reservoirs. Authorities have urged residents in the Godavari catchment area to remain alert.
According to irrigation officials, the project is receiving 1,73,578 cusecs of water from the Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) alone. Additionally, about 11,000 cusecs from the Kadam project and 71,000 cusecs from local rainfall are also contributing to the surge.
The current inflow into Yellampalli has reached 2,55,707 cusecs. In response, authorities have opened 35 gates to discharge 3,46,846 cusecs downstream. The reservoir currently holds 16.7912 TMC of water.
