Hyderabad: A school auto overturned near Gayatri College in Yellareddypet mandal, Rajanna Sircilla district, on Tuesday, injuring several students and fracturing a 15-year-old’s leg.
The vehicle, carrying students from Racharla Boppapur to a private school in Yellareddypet, lost control when stray dogs darted across the road. Harshavardhan (15) suffered a fractured leg while others escaped with minor injuries.
Locals shifted the injured to a nearby private hospital. Frustrated residents pointed to the growing number of stray dogs, pigs, and monkeys roaming the village streets, blaming their unchecked presence for a string of recent accidents. They called on authorities to step in and take urgent action.
They also criticised emergency services after the 108 ambulance took over 30 minutes to reach the scene, despite multiple calls. Locals had already transported the injured children to hospital by then, drawing anger over the delay.
