Hyderabad: A 28-year-old doctor died in Kamareddy district on Wednesday after a wall collapsed while he was trying to drain floodwater from his home.
The incident took place in Rajampet village. Dr. Vinay, who worked at Gondaram Palle Hospital, was attempting to manage water that had entered his house during heavy rains. Local residents said that intense downpours caused the nearby Devuni Cheruvu lake bund to breach. The resulting floodwater surged into surrounding homes, including Dr. Vinay’s.
To prevent further damage, Dr. Vinay tried to punch a hole in a wall to release the water. During the attempt, the wall gave way and collapsed. The debris fell directly on him, killing him instantly.
The accident stunned the village. Many locals expressed grief over the loss of a young doctor who served in a rural medical facility and was widely respected in the area.
